A pair of 19th century Vienna porcelain figures of Harlequin & Columbine, after the 1745 Meissen originals by J.F. Eberlain after earlier models by J.J. Kandler; he in a grey conical hat, his tunic with panels of playing cards, pink scales and harlequin diamonds of yellow, black, turquoise and puce, white breeches, blue shoes, playing the bagpipes and sitting cross legged on a plain rock-work base; she seated on a similar rock-work base, playing a hurdy-gurdy, wearing a wide brimmed yellow hat, a pink scaled, turquoise and pink bodice matching that of her partner with scattered playing cards, a flower painted apron over a white skirt and yellow shoes

Vienna bee-hive mark in blue on each base

Harlequin height 13.25 cm
Columbine height 11.75 cm

He with a restored flea bit on the rear of his hat and one finger
She with her right elbow restored and tips of two fingers

He appears to be copied from the third version of the Harlequin bagpiper after Kandler
She appears to be after an earlier model by Kandler as his "Taxa of 1740-48" includes "1 seated Tyrolean girl playing the hurdy-gurdy
