Description

An exceptional 18th century Vienna porcelain hunting group featuring a wild boar being attacked by three hunting dogs.

The dark brown boar, its fur almost bristling with realism has fallen on its left side whilst the front dog, dappled in grey, has avoided the wicked tusks and is biting the boar's left ear, a paw either side of its head, the middle dog, coloured white and brown is attacking from the left flank, teeth sunk into the ceature's right ear, and the third dog, with hints of grey, is bringing up the rear, all displayed on an elaborate white rococo-esque base with groups of pale coloured flowers and leaves, set against a pale green bocage.

Beehive mark to inside of base

Restoration to bocage and one of the dogs rear paws.
